Dylan Lopez is a 2nd-year student at TAMU-CC pursuing a degree in English. A graduate from Richard King High School, he spent his senior year juggling dual credit classes with Del Mar College and competing in Academic Decathlon; he would go on to become a regional champion and a state competitor of 2017-2018. In high school, his interests in poetry were sparked by then-Creative Writing instructor Joseph Wilson, who featured Dylan in his final edition of the high school literary magazine, Open All Night. His writing incorporates a diverse range of topics including love, death, religious narratives, and countless others. Dylan is also soon-t0-be featured in Corpus Christi Writers 2019, published by Mays Publishing.
